The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has proposed revisions to its rules governing the accessibility of state and local government websites under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The proposed rulemaking would not apply to private sector employers, which are covered by ADA Title III, but it sends a strong signal about DOJ’s attitude toward website accessibility, which eventually could carry over to the private sector.
