As the June 29, 2023, deadline approached for federal contractors and subcontractors to certify compliance with their AAP obligations via the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) online AAP-VI portal, an issue involving unit numbers arose for some federal contractors. OFCCP’s Contractor Portal requires every AAP establishment listing to have a unique Unit Number that aligns with the contractor’s Employer Information (EEO-1) Reports. The unit numbers are available only after the completion of each EEO-1 filing season, however, and because the 2022 EEO-1 filing season has not yet opened, any new contractor establishments created after the 2021 filing season will not have an EEO-1 Unit Number. OFCCP has suggested that an affected contractor contact the Contractor Portal Help Desk for a temporary unit number.
