The Center for Workplace Compliance (CWC), our affiliated nonprofit membership association, has compiled a state-by-state digest of notable State and Local Laws Effective January 1, 2025, as well as a digest of Minimum Wage Increases Effective January 1, 2025.
CWC’s digests show that many new state laws relate to various types of paid leave. Pay transparency and captive audience bans are the subject of new laws in at least two states, and California has an interesting new ban on driver’s license discrimination in hiring. Furthermore, dozens of states and localities have raised their minimum wage rates for 2025.
