The filing period for the mandatory Component 1 Employer Information (EEO-1) Reports covering 2023 employment data will open April 30, 2024, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has announced. Reports will be due five weeks later, on June 4, 2024. Filing specifics have not yet been released, but we think it is safe to say that filers will be able to use an employee snapshot from the fourth quarter of 2023 and that the EEO-1’s current race, ethnicity, and sex categories will remain the same. EEOC said it anticipates posting the 2023 EEO-1 Instruction Booklet and the 2023 Data File Upload Specifications by March 19, 2024. EEOC also has indicated that its online EEO-1 help desk will remain offline until the portal opens April 30.
