With election season approaching, companies should be aware that more than half of states have laws that give employees the right to take time off from work to vote. However, states vary on issues such as whether the leave must be paid or unpaid; the type of notice, if any, that the employee must give; and how much time must be allowed. Members of the Center for Workplace Compliance, our affiliated nonprofit membership association, can track voter leave laws using CWC’s online State Voting Leave Laws resource.
