The Center for Workplace Compliance (CWC) supports the three-year extension of the Federal Contractor Veterans’ Employment Report (VETS-4212) proposed by the U.S. Labor Department’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS). Covered federal contractors must file the VETS-4212 report annually with DOL-VETS. It provides a snapshot of a contractor’s workforce broken down by protected veteran status, location, and job category. Contractors also must report the number of protected veteran new hires for the preceding 12-month period. In written comments filed with VETS, CWC supported without change the agency’s announced intent to seek approval from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to continue using the current version of the VETS-4212 report for three more years. CWC’s comments noted that contractors are familiar with the form and that the reporting process is a relatively simple and efficient method for satisfying the reporting requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA).
