Our affiliated non-profit association, the Center for Workplace Compliance (CWC), has filed written comments with the Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) in support of the agency’s announced intent to seek formal approval from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to extend its Functional Affirmative Action Program (FAAP) application and approval process for several more years. Periodic OMB approval is required pursuant to the federal Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA).
According to a pre-approval notice published by OFCCP on February 9, 2022, in the Federal Register, the basic FAAP application and approval requirements would remain the same, although the agency is proposing some additional changes in the name of increasing efficiency. OFCCP is also considering whether to use its new AAP-VI Contractor Portal as the means for contractors to submit FAAP Addendum updates such as modifications to functional units.
