The Trump Administration has appointed Michael Schloss as the Deputy Director of Policy and Acting Director at the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).

Mr. Schloss is an ERISA attorney who previously served as a career official at the Labor Department’s Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA). He retired in January 2023 as EBSA’s Director of Enforcement. He rejoined EBSA just a few weeks ago as Director of the Office of Field Administration. As of this writing, he is listed in active roles on both OFCCP’s and EBSA’s websites.

Mr. Schloss transitions into OFCCP at a time of significant uncertainty. On January 21, 2025, President Trump signed Executive Order (E.O.) 14173, Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity.  It rescinded E.O. 11246 and directed OFCCP to immediately stop any efforts to hold federal contractors responsible for taking affirmative action.
